Introduction

Prof. Dr. Hongqiang Li is currently aprofessor in school of electronics and information engineering at Tiangong University, Tianjin, China, and performs research activity at Tianjin Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Detection Technology and Systems. His current research interests include fiber Bragg grating sensors, interrogation systemand photonic integration. The main goal of his research is to build a low-cost monolithic integration of fiber Bragg grating interrogation system on a silicon wafer. He has published more than 130 journal and conference papers. He has been either the principal investigator or co-investigator on numerous national research grants. He is a reviewer for a grant awarding body and professional journals.


Research areas

His research interests are photonic integration, fiber Bragg gratings and monitoring systems for optical biosensing, which is centered on monitoring various physiological parameters (e.g., human body temperature monitoring, ECG signal monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, heartbeat monitoring, heart sound monitoring, pulse monitoring, blood pressure monitoring), and applying fundamental understanding in photonic integration to develop monolithic integration for fiber Bragg grating interrogation. It can make fiber Bragg grating interrogation system suitable for in situ physical and chemical detection.
