Professor Xie mainly gives lectures about Graphic Composition and Visual Thinking Theory. He is engaged in the theoretical research of public art, modeling art and oil painting creation. Subsequently, he has edited seven works, including Commodity Aesthetics, Sketch Course and Western Painting Appreciation, and he has published more than 20 articles and several pieces of works. Up to now, he has won HK Mulberry and Flax Foundation Teaching Fellowship and the honorary titles of Tianjin Polytechnic University Excellent Education Worker, Tianjin Polytechnic University Excellent Teacher Model of Morality and Tianjin Municipal Excellent Teacher Model of Morality.
Social part-time work: council member of China Fashion & Color Association; council member of Tianjin Packaging Design Association; honorary chairman of Tianjin Fashion Commodity Association.
