Department of Chemical Engineering at Tiangong University (TGU) was founded in 1997. According to the latest ESI (Essential Science Indicators) data, related disciplines including chemistry, engineering science, and materials science are now in the top 1% of ESI global rankings. Chemical Engineering and Technology, one of the first-class disciplines in Tianjin city and has entered the top 50% in the 4th round of national teaching evaluation by the Ministry of Education.
Currently, there are over 60 academic faculty members, and more than 40% of them have overseas experience, forming several teaching and research teams of high-innovative Level. The faculty have achieved 1 Yangtze River scholar and outstanding youth winner,2 New Century Excellent Talents in Universities in China, 3 Tianjin distinguished professors, 2 Tianjin excellent teachers, and so on. Tianjin Key Laboratory of Green Chemical Technology and Process Engineering and Tianjin teaching/experimental demonstration center on Chemical Engineering and Technology are attached to this department.
Associated with State Key Laboratory of Separation Membranes and Membrane Processes, the research work in the department focuses on sustainable technology and covers four main areas: Membrane Separation Processes, Catalysis and Reaction Engineering, Materials and Technologies for New Energy Sources and Environmental Chemical Engineering.
The Department aims to train innovative application-oriented professionals, and the major is designed to meet the requirements of the chemical industry. Most of the graduate students start their rewarding career on Chemical engineering in Beijing, Tianjin, Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta Economic Zones.
The department offers bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees, making international education our feature. Chemical Engineering and technology is a four-year program for bachelor study, and the candidates need to obtain no less than 120 credits in the first seven semesters and finish graduation thesis in the last semester to receive a bachelor degree. .In this master program, the candidates need to obtain no less than 30 credits in the first year of the study and finish graduation thesis in the rest one-and-half years. Anyone with one bachelor/master degree in related disciplines including Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Material Engineering, Material Science, or Environmental Engineering is welcome to apply for the master /doctoral program, respectively.
We are looking forward to the joining of all the candidates who are interested in Chemical Engineering and technology.
