He has successively undertaken or participated in many scientific research projects such as the National Support Plan, the National Defense Research, the Ministry of Education Talent Plan, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and tackling key problems in Tianjin. He has systematically studied the mechanics of textile materials, fabric structure and moulding technology, and textiles. Based on the basic theory of composite structure and properties, a new method of textile composite design has been formed, which successfully solves many key technologies of textile composite fabrication. The research results are in the lead in China and reach the international advanced level. It has been successfully applied in the field of aerospace in China. He has won two second-class prizes for scientific and technological progress, one first-class prize for technological invention in Tianjin, one first-class prize for science and technology in China Textile Industry Association, four second-class prizes for scientific and technological progress in Tianjin, two second-class prizes for science and technology in China Textile Industry Association, and one second-class prize for mulberry and hemp textile science and technology. He has applied for five national invention patents and published more than 70 academic papers. Among them, more than 30 articles have been retrieved by SCI and EI.  he also published one translation. Current research fields are: 1) structure and properties of fiber aggregates; 2) structure and properties of composite materials; 3) new textile forming technology and theory; 4) new composite forming technology and theory.
